So you want to secure your own personal space or more importantly your company name in facebook?
Facebook now make it easier for people to find and connect with you. When your friends, family members or co-workers visit your profile or pages on Facebook, they will be able to enter your username as part of the URL in their browser. This way people will have an easy-to-remember way to find you. We expect to offer even more ways to use your Facebook username in the future.
Facebook have determined that you'll be able to choose a username on a first-come, first-serve basis for your profile and the Facebook Pages that you administer.
So why would you want to do this you may ask?
Well primarily I see the advantages are definately for the pages you administer, so rather than directing users to a long unrecongnisable URL such as this www.facebook.com/pages/yourcompanyname/35462398174956 you can make it more easily recognisable by setting a url such as www.facebook.com/yourcompanyname.
Visit www.facebook.com/username/ to set your personal or business page vanuty URL.
